Viv was in town last night, so she and Dan and I grabbed dinner at Novita on 22nd and Park Ave South, and it was one of the most satisfying meals of 2009. Here’s what we had:

ANTIPASTI
Carpaccio di manzo con tartufi neri   Kobe beef carpaccio with rucola, parmigiano and black truffles
PASTA
Tagliolini all’aragosta  Homemade white tagliolini with lobster ragú, asparagus and tomato cream
Pappardelle con ragú d’agnello Pappardelle with lamb ragú and porcini mushrooms
PESCE
Tonno al pepe  Seared tuna with black pepper crust and lemon sauce

Capesante e gamberi  Pan-sautéed diver scallops and shrimp with broccoli rabe
DOLCI
Gelato affogato al caffé Homemade vanilla gelato with hot espresso and whipped cream
You’re looking at the pepper-crusted tuna. We didn’t think to photograph the tagliolini or the carpaccio — both were amazing, especially the lobster ragu. And amazing olive oil. Woof, I am drooling.
